Rt. Wor. M. B. Crowell

A native of Maine, came to Hampton as an instructor at the Normal Institute, was agent at Hampton for the Old Dominion Steamship Company, later was transferred to Newport News and made General agent for the company. He also ran a general store on Hel1s Half Acre (Bickford and Crowell) which was also the post office, he being the Post Master for a term. He also was District Deputy Grand Master for (this) District No. 28 when the Dispensation for Bremond Lodge was granted. He was also a member of St. Tammany Lodge No.5, Hampton, Va.
