Frequently Asked Questions
How to join.
- Complete a Membership Petition. The petition must be signed by two Master Masons in good standing and accompanied by the $50 petition fee. Copy of petition.
- Your petition will be read at our next Stated Communication and ordered to lay over for four weeks. The Worshipful Master will appoint a 3-person committee to meet with you (and your wife if applicable) before the next Stated Communication (monthly business meeting).
- The purpose of the committee meeting is to allow members of the lodge to meet you and for you to meet several members of the lodge. The committee will ask you questions and will answer any questions posed by you or your wife. The committee may offer to meet you at your home, a public place or they will invite you to the lodge. The committee will also invite your wife to attend, as she is a very important part of this process. Once the committee meets with you, they will report back to the lodge at the next Stated Communication.
- At the next Stated Communication, the lodge will vote on your petition. It is important that both of your petition signers attend to speak on your behalf. It takes a unanimous ballot in order to be elected to receive the degrees of Freemasonry.
- The lodge will contact you within 24 hours of the ballot and if positive, will schedule a date for your Initiation or Degree of Entered Apprentice.
